We are pleased to announce that late applications for admission to CPUT for the 2026 academic year are now open. Prospective students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as spaces in certain programmes are limited and may fill up quickly.
Applicants can conveniently save their progress and return at any time to complete their applications during the submission period. Please note that payment details for the non-refundable application fee are required upon submission of a late application.

CPUT 2026 Late Application Opening and Closing Dates
The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) is accepting late applications for programmes with available spaces for the 2026 academic year.
Late applications open on Monday, 3 November 2025, and close on Friday, 14 November 2025.
Prospective students are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible, as certain programmes may close before the official deadline once capacity is reached.
Please note that the deadline for full research master’s and doctoral studies is 15 March 2026.
Who Can Apply For CPUT Late Applications 2026
The following applicants can only apply for programs that have spaces available for 2026 through the current open call for late applications.
- Applicants who exhausted only 1 or 2 options out of the maximum of 3 choices for applications submitted during the normal application timelines.
- Applicants who did not apply during the normal application timelines (maximum of 3 choices)
- Regretfully, no 4th choices following the Dean’s Discretionary process will be considered.
- Students transferring from other universities.
- CPUT students who have taken a gap in their studies.
- Phasing out programmes (where applicable)

- No late applications for the Faculty of Education
- The following programmes are still open for applications regardless of the late application timeframe (also included in the list provided below):

Only the following categories are allowed to follow the manual application process:
- A Few non-degree programmes identified (if any)
- Dean’s Discretionary – 4th Choice (where applicable)
CPUT 2026 Late Application Fee and Admission Guidelines
The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) is receiving late applications for the 2026 academic year. Only applications submitted and paid for within the official late application period will be reviewed. Please note that payments received after the closing date will not be accepted or processed.
A non-refundable late application fee of R150.00 is required when submitting a late application for the 2026 academic year.
Late admission opportunities at CPUT are subject to the availability of spaces within each programme. As placement is limited by programme quotas, receiving an offer does not automatically guarantee enrolment until all admission and registration requirements have been met.

How to Submit your application for late admissions at CPUT
There are two categories of applications for a late submission. See them below
TYPE A:
- You have not submitted any 2024 application choices to CPUT during the normal application timeline and therefore submitting a 2024 application for the first time to CPUT (maximum of 3 choices)
- You have submitted 2024 applications before and have only submitted 1 or 2 out of the maximum of 3 choices?
- Only online application submissions will be accepted. Regretfully no manual applications for this category will be processed
- Please follow the step-by-step CATEGORY A online application process below
Regretfully no manual applications for this TYPE will be processed
- You can apply from the comfort of your own home, or wherever you have Internet access.
- You can use a smartphone, tablet or computer to apply online. Please use Internet Explorer as your Internet search engine. No other browsers are certified for online applications at CPUT.
- Specifications for your computer: Internet Explorer 7 or higher, with Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 or higher. No other browsers are certified for online applications at CPUT.

TYPE B: 4th choice only – Dean’s Discretionary (where applicable)
- You have already submitted a maximum of three (3) 2026 application choices but do meet the entrance requirements for programmes identified with available spaces
- Download and complete the electronic application form from the CPUT website: https://wwww.cput.ac.za/study/apply/step-3-get-an-application-form/
- Scan the completed application form together with any additional supporting documentation and submit it to the respective Faculty staff as identified below (Hand deliver to the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment):
- PLEASE NOTE THIS IS ONLY FOR 4th CHOICE SUBMISSIONS (CATEGORY B – Dean’s Discretionary) AND NOT FOR CHOICES 1, 2 AND 3 SUBMISSIONS and only to programmes identified with available spaces
