How to Re-Apply at UWC For 2026
The University of the Western Cape has officially reopened the application process for returning students for the 2026 academic year. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students are now invited to reapply.
All reapplications must be submitted through the UWC online portal before the specified deadlines. For more detailed information on readmission to UWC for 2026, please continue reading this article.
Prospective applicants who applied for the 2026 admissions but were not accepted can now reapply. UWC is currently accepting applications from all candidates, including those who applied previously.

How to Reapply at University of the Western Cape
Manual Applications
Download the Application Form from the website www.uwc.ac.za; Fill out the form completely and answer all questions in black ink (pen) before submitting it with all supporting documents.

Documents Required for UWC Re-applications
The following documents must be ready at the time of application and submission:
Undergraduate Requirements
- Certified copy of your ID/passport document (compulsory).
- Certified Grade 11 end-of-year examination results (for those currently in grade 12) or your National Senior/Matric/IEB Certificate (if you have already completed Grade 12).
- Certified copies of your degree certificate(s) and academic record (if you attended or are currently a student at SMU or another university).
- Certified copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable).
- Proof of payment of the compulsory and non-refundable application fee
Postgraduate Requirements
- Matric exemption certificate (including subject marks)
- ID document / Passport / Work permit / Study permit
- Diploma/Degree certificate/s
- Comprehensive academic record (indicating marks obtained for subjects)
- Certificate of registration with the relevant professions council (if applicable)
- Letter of appointment as a registrar with a date of assumption of duty: applicants for M Med and M Dent students NB: letter from the employer, e.g. Hospital HR.
- Motivational letter and CV (Public Health applicants only)
- Medical aid (Non-South Africans)
- Students with non-South African qualifications must attach a SAQA evaluation certificate with their previous degrees obtained
