Important Information for Applying to the 2025-2026 Academic Year
- Application process: The application form will be available online in PDF format starting from May 13, 2024. Online submission is mandatory for all applications except for a few specific cases listed on the official website.
- Non-degree qualifications: If you’re applying for a non-degree program, such as Food Technology, please note that online applications are not accepted. Visit the official website for details on application procedures for these programs.
- Deadline: Ensure all required documents are submitted by the deadline to avoid missing out on admission for the 2025-2026 academic year.
CPUT Application Dates for 2025-2026 Academic Year
The CPUT online application form, including a PDF version, will open on May 13, 2024. Applications for all undergraduate courses will close on September 30, 2024, while postgraduate applications will close on March 15, 2025. CPUT Application Fee for 2025-2026 Academic Year
Important Information about Application Fees:
- Application Fee: R100 (non-refundable)
- Payment Proof: A copy of your payment proof must be included with your application form. Keep the original for your records.
- Late Applications: A late application fee of R150 (non-refundable) will apply to applications submitted after the closing date, only if officially announced on the CPUT website.
Payment Options:
- Cash: Payments can be made directly at the Cashiers’ Office on any CPUT campus.
- Bank Deposit: Details of the university’s bank account for deposits can be found on the official website.
- Crossed Postal Order or Crossed Bank Guaranteed Cheque: Submit these along with your application form.
- Credit Card: Online payment options might be available on the CPUT website. Please refer to the website for details.

Required documents for both CPUT online and manual applications 2025-2026
The following documents must be ready at the time of application and submission
South African Applicants
- Copy of the proof of payment of your application fee (online application submission is free of charge).
- A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document.
- A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you are currently in Grade 12, please submit your marks obtained in Grade 11.
- Certified copies of the original Academic record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of other certificates/ diplomas/ degrees you obtained previously from any other higher education institution.
- Any other documents specifically required for the programme to which you are applying, as explained in the application form and admission requirements
- Minor applicants who are under the age of 18 at the time of application must submit a Minor Application Declaration
Foreign Applicants
- A certified copy of your school-leaving certificate, together with an English translation.
- A scratch card (for students from the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examinations Council (NECO).
- Congo-Brazzaville applicants must submit the Liste des Admis au Bac
- Sixth-year Bulletin: Diplom D’Etat and Journal and transcripts of results or Journal or Confirmation of Results from the Embassy (students from Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo or Cameroon).
- International/Foreign Post-Basic Nursing applicants need to submit a document indicating approval of nursing qualifications from, and certified by, South African Qualification Authority (SAQA), in order to be provisionally accepted. Full acceptance will only be considered if the applicant also submits proof of temporary registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) for two (2) years, in addition to a valid study permit.

How to Apply to CPUT For 2025-2026
All new and returning applicants must submit their applications to CPUT by following the application guidelines outlined below.
Step 1: Qualification

Step 2: Complete the form
- Download the application form and complete it manually or complete the online application form by following the screen instructions
Step 3: Upload and Submit the forms
- Gather your documents or upload further/ outstanding documents.
- Pay the application fee if you applied manually
- Send in your form and documents to the designated channel
- Submit them online if you completed the online application form
CPUT Admission Requirements for 2025-2026
The number of slots available for a program heavily influences the selection. Meeting the admission requirement, on the other hand, is an important factor in the selection criteria. The most qualified applicants are chosen for the various programs. The requirements for degrees, diplomas, and certificates are listed below:
- You must meet the qualification’s individual subject admission requirements. In addition, you must meet the minimum Admissions Point Score (APS) requirements for the qualification for which you are applying.
- You also need to pass your National Senior Certificate (NSC) before you can get an acceptance letter from CPUT. A mark above the average may guarantee admission to the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
