The NSFAS is still accepting applications from all South African citizens for the academic year 2024-2025. Anyone who has not yet applied for NSFAS funding for the academic year 2024-2025 can do so now because the application window is open until January 2024. The application period will end in January 2024, when the Nsfas will close all applications and begin the selection process. You can still apply for Nsfas financial aid because the deadline has been extended to January 2024.
Nsfas Application Closing Dates for 2024-2025
The NSFAS online application form will close on January 31, 2024, and any applications submitted after that date will not be considered for funding because they were submitted late. All documents, including the fully completed application form, must be submitted to Nsfas by the 31 January 2024 closing date, either online or manually. Remember to apply for 2024 admissions during the application period.
Anyone who charges you a processing fee is a con artist, because Nsfas does not charge prospective applicants a processing fee before processing their application forms. We respectfully request that no application or processing fees be paid for the Nsfas online application.
In a short time, the Nsfas online application will be available to all members of South Africa’s public universities and Tvet colleges. To be eligible for Nsfas financial assistance, you must be a South African citizen applying for or already enrolled in a study course.
Nsfas Application
Despite the fact that the deadline has been extended until January 2024, we strongly advise you to apply as soon as possible and to submit all required documents. Depending on the method of application you choose, the NSFAS admissions office must receive the following documents by the deadline, either online or by mail.
- A photocopy of your South African identification document or card
- To replace ID documents, a student under the age of 18 must have a birth certificate.
- Nsfas will require your parents’ or guardians’ ID cards.
- If your parents have died, please provide a death certificate.
- At least three of your relatives should serve as witnesses. Nsfas will need their ID cards.
- Students who are working at the time of application must provide proof of annual income. This could be your pay stub, bank statement, or other documents showing how much you earn per year.
- a copy of your highest academic degree
- A fully completed consent form signed by those on the forms who matter
- Download and complete the DISABILITY ANNEXURE A form if you are a student with a disability.
Before you apply
- You must determine whether you are eligible for Nsfas funding.
- If you meet the academic prerequisites
- If you have all of the necessary documents,
- If all supporting documents are certified and no more than three months old
- Before and after applying, make sure your phone number and email address are both active and functional.
How to Apply online at Nsfas Online Application Form
You must submit your application as soon as possible because the Nsfas online application deadline is quickly approaching. Because the Nsfas application window is still open, you can apply now by following the instructions below. Do not put off applying for financial aid for the academic year 2024-2025 any longer.
- Enter www.nsfas.org.za/apply-online-2024 into your browser.
- To begin, go to the Create myNSFAS Account tab.
- Proceed to apply via the account you just created
- Click on the APPLY tab to access the online forms.
- Before you can proceed with the rest of the application, you must update your Nsfas account information.
- Upload all supporting documents for the Nsfas 2024 online application.
- To submit your Nsfas online application form for 2024-2025, click the submit button.

If you applied for Nsfas online, you can check the status of your application for 2024.
- Access your myNSFAS account.
- Enter your username and the password you chose.
- To monitor and check your status for 2024, click on the Track funding progress link.
What to do after Nsfas Approval in 2024
Nsfas Wallet For 2024
Once your application is approved by Nsfas, there is the need to activate your Nsfas wallet to receive your allowances and stipends.
Register for your LAF/SOP. Students receiving their first NSFAS bursary must sign the NSFAS Bursary Agreement form. You will receive an SMS with information about Mobile Wallet. Dial *120*176# and enter your ID number and password to verify your account. Make a strong password for yourself that you will use for all transactions. This password should not be disclosed to anyone.
