UJ Postgraduate Application Closing Date For 2024-2025
For the academic year 2024-2025, the University of Johannesburg (UJ) is still accepting postgraduate applications. Any postgraduate applicant who has not yet applied for admission to the University of Johannesburg (UJ) for the academic year 2024-2025 can do so now because the application window is still open until October 31, 2023. The application period, which began on April 1, 2023, will end in October 2023, when the university will close all applications and begin the selection process. The closing date for applying to study at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) has been extended to October 31, 2023.
University of Johannesburg Application Closing Dates for 2024-2025
All undergraduate course applications at the University of Johannesburg will close on September 30, 2023, while postgraduate course applications will close on October 31, 2023. If there are still spaces available, late applications for undergraduate courses will be accepted in February 2024. It is preferable to apply now because late applications are not guaranteed. Closing Date for Application Fee payment for 2024-2025
Prospective applicants are reminded that the online application process at the University of Johannesburg is free. A processing or application fee of R200 is charged for manual or hard-copy applications. Anyone who applies manually and does not pay the application fee by the deadlines will have their application form rejected. Following payment, you must attach payment proof to the other supporting documents and submit them before the course deadline.
Document submission and upload deadlines
Despite the fact that the deadline has been extended until 31 October 2023, we encourage you to apply and submit all documents as soon as possible. The following documents must be received by the UJ admission office by the deadline, either online or by mail, depending on the qualification for which you wish to apply.
Before you submit your online application and upload/email documents, please visit the relevant faculty/department website to confirm additional documentation that may be required e.g. departmental application form, CV, motivation, and thesis.
Applicants transferring from another university/tertiary institution are required to upload a full academic record/transcript and degree/diploma certificate (if applicable). Please refer to “Document upload requirements when applying online” below for more information on uploading documents.

- Document upload requirements when applying online (not applicable to applicants currently in grade 12 or internal transfer/Senior applicants):
- All documents must be certified
- Ensure that the scanned file is a maximum of 512KB
- Documents are scanned in any of the following types – tiff, pdf, jpg or gif
- Each document must be scanned and uploaded as separate attachments
- Alternatively, documents can be emailed to ujappdocs@listsrv.uj.ac.za with the provisional reference/student number noted in the subject line of the email.
