    • Click OK on the privacy notice pop-up.
  2. Verify Special Characters

Admission Requirements For UP Courses

The University of Pretoria offers a wide range of courses across 9 faculties. While meeting the entry requirements is necessary for admission, it does not guarantee automatic acceptance. To gain admission into any of the faculties, you must meet the following requirements:

Higher Certificate: If you’re applying for a Higher Certificate qualification at the University of Pretoria, you must meet at least the following minimum requirements

  • NCV Level 4 issued by the Council for General and Further Education and Training

Diploma: To apply for any Diploma courses at the University of Pretoria, you must meet the following qualifications.

  • NCV Level 4 issued by the Council for General and Further Education and Training
  • At least 40% in three (3) Fundamental subjects including the language of learning and teaching in the higher education institution
  • At least 50% in the three (3) compulsory Vocational subjects
  • Must meet the minimum requirements of the higher education institution

Bachelor Degree: To apply for any degree-related courses at the University of Pretoria (UP), you must meet the following qualifications

  • NCV Level 4 issued by the Council for General and Further Education and Training
  • At least 50% in three (3) Fundamental subjects including the language of learning and teaching in the higher education institution
  • At least 60% in four (4) compulsory Vocational subjects*
  • Must meet the minimum requirements of the higher education institution
