UniZulu 2026 Application Date
The University of Zululand has officially opened its application window for the 2026 academic year. The CAO is the sole organization authorized to manage the recruitment and processing of applications for the University of Zululand. All applicants must submit the application fee along with the required supporting documents for academic admission by the deadline of September 30, 2025. Ensure all documents are submitted before the closing date to complete your application process successfully.

The following documents are required for the UniZulu 2026 application process.
- Identity Document

- An academic record with conduct in respect of studies at another tertiary institution
- Proof of payment of the non-refundable application fee (see relevant fee above).
- Matric results/certificate
Foreign students must in addition provide:

- Go to www.cao.ac.za.
- Input your ID number and click ‘Submit’.
- Review the information provided and click ‘Continue with application’.
- Complete all the requested information.
- Once you’ve filled in all the required details, click ‘Next’.
- Click ‘Continue with online application’.
- A pop-up will appear showing your CAO Number, Password, and EasyPay Number. Ensure you note these down.
- Click ‘Continue with Online Application’ and follow the prompts to complete all the requested information.
- Continue entering the required details until the application is fully completed.
- Check the Summary of your application to ensure all the information is accurate.
- Click the ‘Process My Application’ button at the bottom of the page to submit your application.
- A message will appear confirming your successful submission.

UniZulu Admission Requirements
The minimum admission requirement for the University of Zululand is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with the following criteria:
- A minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching at the higher education institution, certified by Umalusi.
- An achievement rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or higher in four subjects chosen from the recognized 20-credit NSC subjects.
- Senior Certificate with at least 5 subjects on Higher and or StandardGrade
