National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) Registration Requirements and Eligibility
South African students enrolled in public universities or Tvet schools in 2025 with a household gross income of R350,000 or less are eligible to apply for an NSFAS bursary. To register for NSFAS 2025, you need to also satisfy the academic requirements of the NSFAS approved course. However, you cannot register for NSFAS if:
- Student Funding Requirements
- You have Previous qualification completed.
- Your Household income is over R350 000 per annum.
- You are a student with pre-qualification and funding.

- You are studying a short course

How to Register for National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) 2025
Follow the steps below to register for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).
- Visit www.nsfas.org.za for NSFAS 2025 registration.
- Click on the “myNSFAS” tab at the top right corner.
- Enter username and password to register NSFAS for 2025.
- Click the “Register” button.
- Ensure you have a valid copy of your South African ID or unabridged birth certificate.
- Authorize NSFAS to verify and validate your information.
- Enter your ID number, full name, and surname.
- Key in your active email address and cellphone number.
- Create a password and confirm it.
- Upload a copy of your identification document.
- Click on “Register” to receive a one-time pin.
- Receive an OTP sent to your email and cellphone number.
- Enter the OTP and submit.
