The University of Johannesburg application period runs from April 1 to October 31, 2023. During the application process, all of the courses will be available for selection. We recommend that you check and read the prerequisites for your preferred course before applying.

How to Apply online to the University of Johannesburg For 2024
Comply with the following steps to apply for your course at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Step 1:
- Visit the official website at ul.ac.za/Apply if you have good internet access.
- If you are a new applicant, select “New Applicant.”
- Select Yes/No from the drop box if you have the student number.
- Select Yes/No from the drop-down menu to indicate whether you are returning to finish an unfinished application.
Step 2:
- Read the clause that appears after the previous step and check the box “I Accept.” to continue
Step 3:
- Enter your Biographical details, Contact Information, Residence Information, and nationality. ( Please enter your biographical details in CAPS.)
- Click on the Next Button to continue to the next page
- You will then receive an email with your Student Number and a temporary pin. You can choose to change or keep the pin.
Step 4:
- Enter your student number and PIN now.
Step 5:
- Choose your course after reviewing the individual course prerequisites.
- Before applying, download the university prospectus and review the course requirements.
- The decision will be based on these criteria. Please reconsider your selection if it does not meet the requirements.
Step 6:
- Keep uploading the necessary documents. These documents must be scanned and uploaded individually.
- The scanned files should not exceed 5MB or 512KB in size. Tiff, pdf, jpg, or gif file formats are required.
- Remember to save each page before moving on to the next.
- If you do not save your data before proceeding, you will lose it.
Step 7:
- Please ensure that you press the Submit Application button once you have completed your application to ensure that they receive it.

UJ Paper-based Application for 2024
You can print a hard copy of the application form from the official website and fill it out by hand with a pen. Application forms and supporting documentation must be submitted to the Admissions Office. Documents can be emailed to ujappdocs@listsrv.uj.ac.za with the provisional reference/student number noted in the subject line of the email.
