To ensure that you are applying to study one of the approved courses at the Tvet or university, we have provided the complete list of courses funded by NSFAS and expected to receive financing for the academic year 2024 on this website.

Which Qualifications Does NSFAS Fund 2024-2025

Undergraduate Qualifications:

NSFAS bursary primarily focuses on providing funding for undergraduate studies, which encompass a wide range of courses. Whether you are interested in humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, commerce, or any other field, NSFAS may cover the tuition fees and related expenses for your chosen undergraduate program once it is one of the approved NSFAS COURSES.

National Certificate (Vocational – NCV) Courses:

NSFAS also supports students pursuing National Certificate Vocational (NCV) courses at TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) colleges. These courses are designed to equip students with practical skills and knowledge relevant to various industries. From engineering and hospitality to business studies and IT, NSFAS funding may be available for eligible NCV courses.

Postgraduate Studies:

Students seeking funding for postgraduate qualifications are encouraged to contact and apply through the National Research Foundation (NRF). This includes postgraduate certificates, postgraduate diplomas, honours degrees, masters and PhD degrees

Scare Skills Courses:

NSFAS recognizes the importance of promoting skills development in critical areas that are in demand in the South African job market. Therefore, they may prioritize funding for courses related to scarce skills. These courses can include various engineering disciplines, health sciences, mathematics, science, technology, and other specialized fields. If your chosen course is identified as a scarce skill, you may have a higher chance of securing NSFAS funding.
