UCT Online Application 2027 Opening Date
The University of Cape Town (UCT) has officially announced that applications for the 2027 academic year will open on 1 April 2026. Prospective students who wish to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies will be able to access the online application portal from this date to begin the process.

Application Materials Required
Yu will need the following documents to apply to University of Cape Town
Currently in Grade 12
- A certified copy of your ID
- Final Grade 11 results
Completed your Grade 12/matric
- An affidavit declaring that you have studied at another higher education institution (university or college). If you never enrolled at a university or college since completing high school, this must be declared in the affidavit.
- A certified copy of your ID
- Your final Grade 12 results
Transfer applicants:
- An official academic transcript and a certificate of conduct from your previous college/university
- A certified copy of your ID
- Final Grade 12 results

UCT Student Financial Aid
The University of Cape Town (UCT) has allocated over R8 million in entrance scholarships for first-time students in 2027. South African citizens and permanent residents are eligible for these awards, which range from R20,000 to R100,000. No separate application is required to be considered for this funding. The scholarships are awarded for the first year of study, after which students may be eligible for faculty scholarships.
How to Apply at University of Cape Town
To complete your application successfully, you must:
- Visit the official UCT website at www.uct.ac.za.
- Choose the “APPLY ONLINE” option.
- Read and accept the POPI Act terms.
- Click on the “Next Button” to continue.
- Provide the full names of all your relatives and those responsible for your payments.
- Enter your contact details, including address and phone number.
- Select the type of qualification you’re applying for (undergraduate or postgraduate).
- Input your school leaving certificate number and the year of your matriculation/Grade 12.
- Complete all required fields, including both personal and academic details.
- Provide the name of the most recent high school you attended.
- Choose a minimum of three study courses.
- Upload all necessary supporting documents.
- Review all your entered information for accuracy.
- Confirm that all details are correct and submit your application.
- Pay the non-refundable application fee and upload proof of payment.

Please note that incomplete applications will not be processed, and late submissions will not be considered and will automatically be disqualified.
