How to Apply – 6 Simple Steps to Join CPUT

Applying to Cape Peninsula University of Technology is straightforward when you follow the official six-step process. Here’s a detailed guide to help you every step of the way:

Step I: Choose Your Programme

Before applying to CPUT, it’s important to take the time to explore your options and understand the admission requirements. Here are a few key steps to guide you in making an informed decision

  • Visit cput.ac.za and explore the wide range of programmes offered across six (6) faculties.
  • Read the course details, admission requirements, and career opportunities before making your choice from the current prospectus.
  • All prospective students are to apply as many as 3 courses.
  • Ensure you satisfy all the entry requirements as admissions is solely based on academic performance.

Step II: Gather Your Documents

Before starting your online application, prepare the following documents in PDF format:

  • Certified copy of your ID or passport
  • Final Grade 11 or 12 results (if currently in school)
  • Academic transcripts (for postgrad or transfer students)
  • Proof of payment for the application fee (if applicable)
  • Other supporting documents (e.g., proof of residence, affidavit, etc.)

Note: All documents must be clear and certified within the last 3 months.

Step III: Apply Online

All CPUT 2026 applications must be submitted online by following the steps below:

If you plan to stay in one of CPUT’s student residences, you must submit a separate application for accommodation. This can be done via the Student Housing portal once you’ve completed your academic application.
