When to Apply for UKZN Admissions 2026

Students wishing to pursue their studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal for the 2026 academic year can now begin submitting their applications. Applications are welcomed from all candidates, regardless of nationality or language. Ensure you apply between March 1 and September 30, 2025, to secure your place. All applications must be completed and payments made before the deadline.

UKZN Application Method (2026 Intake)

Apply online from Saturday, March 1, 2025 at www.cao.ac.za
All first-time South African applicants and transfer students to UKZN are required to submit their applications online through the Central Application Office (CAO) website. All other applicants must apply directly to UKZN for the 2026 academic intake..
You will be allowed to select more than a course on the same application form.

UKZN Application Fee Payment Dates (2026)

The CAO charges a fee of R250 per applicant. After this fee is paid, your application will be forwarded to UKZN.
You can either pay online or pay at the bank (See Details)
Note: International students are required to pay R490 directly to UKZN.

UKZN Application Document Deadlines

Submit all required documents by the application deadline to avoid an invalid application. This includes

Proof of payment for the application fee
Grade 11 final results
Grade 12 June exam results
National Senior Certificate or Statement of Results
Identity Document (ID card) or a valid passport
An academic record and certificate of conduct
A valid medical insurance cover
Police clearance certificate
SGCE, GCE, GCSE, IGCSE, or Cambridge School Certificate

Submit any outstanding documents including proof of payment of the application fee before the application portal closes.
