Applications for admission to Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) for the 2027 academic year are now open for late submissions. Prospective students are advised to apply early, as availability may be limited for some programmes and spaces could be allocated quickly.

Applicants have the flexibility to save their applications and return later to complete the process before the application period ends. Please be aware that a non-refundable application fee must be paid when submitting a late application.

The 2027 late application period provides an opportunity for students interested in pursuing undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programmes at CPUT.

If you are planning to study at CPUT in 2027, we encourage you to complete your application as early as possible to improve your chances of securing a place in your preferred programme.

CPUT 2027 Late Application Opening and Closing Dates

CPUT is accepting late applications for programmes with available spaces for the 2027 academic intake until Friday, 22 January 2027 The university will consider only online application submissions, and applicants can apply free of charge, as no late application fees will be required.

Please note that the deadline for full research master’s and doctoral studies is 15 March 2027.

Who Can Apply For CPUT Late Applications 2027

The following applicants can only apply for programs that have spaces available for 2027 through the current open call for late applications.

Applicants who exhausted only 1 or 2 options out of the maximum of 3 choices for applications submitted during the normal application timelines.
Applicants who did not apply during the normal application timelines (maximum of 3 choices)
Regretfully, no 4th choices following the Dean’s Discretionary process will be considered.
Students transferring from other universities.
CPUT students who have taken a gap in their studies.
Phasing out programmes (where applicable)

How to apply for CPUT late applications For 2027

Online applications – Free of Charge
All applications must be submitted online

Only the following categories are allowed to follow the manual application process:

A Few non-degree programmes identified (if any)
Dean’s Discretionary – 4th Choice (where applicable)

Who Qualifies for Manual Applications at CPUT?

Despite the focus on online submissions, manual applications will be allowed only for the following categories, and will be subject to a non-refundable application fee of R150.00:

National applicants (with a South African ID) who hold international qualifications and already possess SAQA certification.
Refugees, Asylum Seekers, or Permanent Residency applicants with a South African ID who meet the minimum admission requirements.

***Application form should be hand-delivered to the Application and Registration Centre directly by applicant together with all supporting documents***.

Late admission opportunities at CPUT are subject to the availability of spaces within each programme. As placement is limited by programme quotas, receiving an offer does not automatically guarantee enrolment until all admission and registration requirements have been met.

How to Submit your application for late admissions at CPUT

There are two categories of applications for a late submission. See them below

TYPE A:

You have not submitted any 2024 application choices to CPUT during the normal application timeline and therefore submitting a 2024 application for the first time to CPUT (maximum of 3 choices)
You have submitted 2024 applications before and have only submitted 1 or 2 out of the maximum of 3 choices?
Only online application submissions will be accepted. Regretfully no manual applications for this category will be processed

You can apply from the comfort of your own home, or wherever you have Internet access.
You can use a smartphone, tablet or computer to apply online. Please use Internet Explorer as your Internet search engine. No other browsers are certified for online applications at CPUT.

TYPE B: 4th choice only – Dean’s Discretionary (where applicable)

You have already submitted a maximum of three (3) 2027 application choices but do meet the entrance requirements for programmes identified with available spaces

Scan the completed application form together with any additional supporting documentation and submit it to the respective Faculty staff as identified below (Hand deliver to the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment):
