CPUT 2024 Registration Dates Open

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) will begin accepting applications for the 2024 intake on Monday, January 29, 2024. However, you are not allowed to register before then. Registration for CPUT Off-Campus and Online is open from January 29th through February 9th, 2024 academic year. It is advised that all returning and first-year students register as soon as they can.

CPUT Eligibility Criteria For 2024 Registration:

The 2024 online and offline registration which is set to open on 29 January target the following category of students

First-year undergraduates:

If you finished matric in 2022 or earlier and have been accepted, register online or off-campus between January 29th and February 9th.
If you finished matric in 2023 and are waiting for results, wait till after the final evaluation from January 22nd to 26th. You’ll receive an SMS acceptance notification, and then have 48 hours to register online or off-campus.

Others: Refer to the 2024 registration booklet and term dates for information on your specific program or status.

You can only register starting January 29th.
Register within 48 hours of receiving the acceptance SMS or your spot may be given to someone else.

Returning Students: Register Online or On-Campus Jan 15 – Feb 2

Returning undergraduate, advanced diploma, and postgraduate diploma students can register for the upcoming semester online or on-campus anytime between Monday, January 15th, and Friday, February 2nd. Be sure to check your registration booklet for specific program timelines.

Master’s and Doctoral Studies Registration: Key Dates and Procedures

Returning Students & New Course-Based Masters: Register online or off-campus with online support between January 15th and March 1st, 2024.

New Research Master’s & PhD Students: Register online or off-campus with online support anytime between January 15th and May 31st, 2024.

Step-by-Step Guide to Online Registration at CPUT

Here’s a summary of the key steps involved in online registration at CPUT:

Access the Student Online Services (SOS):
- Visit the CPUT website at www.cput.ac.za.
- Click on the “Students” tab.
- Click on the “Student Online Services (SOS)” link.
Log in to SOS:
- Click on “Log in to SOS.”
- Select “Student” as the user type.
- Enter your student number and PIN.
- Click “Login.”
Verify Financial Information:
- Select “Student Enquiry” from the left menu.
- Go to “Summarized Statement of Account.”
- Check that your upfront payment is reflected as a credit.
Update Personal Information (if needed):
- Select “Student Administration” from the left menu.
- Choose “Personal Information Update” to review and update your details.
- Click “Save” at the bottom of the page.
Accept Registration Rules and Regulations:
- Select “Academic Registration” from the left menu.
- Click on “Rules & Regulations.”
- Click on the “I Accept” button.
Submit Registration:
- Select “Submit Registration” from the left menu.
- Select your employment status from the dropdown list.
- Click on “Save and Continue” or “Save – Continue later” to proceed.
Select Subjects:
- Choose “Possible Subject Selection.”
- Tick the boxes next to the subjects you want to register for.
- Click on “Save and Continue” or “Save – Continue later.”
Review and Print Registration Details:
- Print your registration details and registration costs using the provided buttons.
Finalize Registration:
- Click on the “Accept Registration” button.
- Check the “I ACCEPT” box.
- Print your proof of registration by selecting “Proof of Registration” from the left menu.

Congratulations! You have successfully completed your online registration at CPUT.
